Yea Alabama

Yea, Alabama!
Drown 'em Tide!
Every 'Bama man's behind you,
Hit your stride

Go teach the Bulldogs to behave,
Send the Yellow Jackets to a watery grave.

And if a man starts to weaken,
That's a shame!
For Bama's pluck and grit have
Writ her name in Crimson flame.

Fight on, fight on, fight on men!
Remember the Rose Bowl, we'll win then.

So roll on to victory,
Hit your stride,
You're Dixie's football pride,
Crimson Tide,
Roll Tide, Roll Tide!!

Alma Mater

Alabama, listen, Mother,
To our vows of love,
To thyself and to each other,
Faithful friends we'll prove.

Faithful, loyal, firm and true,
Heart bound to heart will beat.
Year by year, the ages through
Until in Heaven we meet.

College days are swiftly fleeting,
Soon we'll leave their halls
Ne'er to join another meeting
'Neath their hallowed walls.

Faithful, loyal, firm and true
Heart bound to heart will beat
Year by year, the ages through
Until in Heaven we meet.

So, farewell, dear Alma Mater
May thy name, we pray,
Be rev'renced ever, pure and stainless
As it is today.

Faithful, loyal, firm and true
Heart bound to heart will beat
Year by year, the ages through
Until in Heaven we meet.

Awards:

  • 2004 Second-Team All-SEC (Coaches)
  • 2004 SEC Special Teams Player of the Week vs. Kentucky

Tyrone had 17 kickoff returns for 452 yards and one TD in 2004, thus becoming the first Alabama player to lead the SEC in kickoff returns. He ranked 11th in the final NCAA statistics. His 17 kickoff returns in 2004 ties him at 4th place with Arvin Richard in single season returns and his 452 yards was the 3rd best mark in Alabama history. His season average return of 26.6 is 4th best all-time.

2004 (Sophomore): A true play-maker, Tyrone played wide receiver, quarterback, running back and returned kickoffs. He accounted for 963 all-purpose yards during the season, 66 rushing, 347 receiving, 98 on punt returns and 452 on kickoff returns. He returned a kickoff 100-yards for a TD (only the school’s seventh) against Kentucky that broke open the game. His 452 yards in kickoff returns was fourth on the Tide’s single-season list and his 17 returns also ranked fourth. He rushed for a career-high 19 yards against Mississippi State; he had four receptions for a game-high 82 yards against Minnesota in the Music City Bowl and five receptions for 71 yards at Tennessee. At the start of the season, Tyrone was one of only two returning wide receivers (Antonio Carter was the other) who caught a pass in a previous game. Tyrone earned the Ozzie Newsome Most Improved Receiver award following spring practice.

2003 (Freshman): Tyrone caught at least one pass in each of the final six games of the season. His first action came in the Arkansas game, and from that point on, his playing time grew steadily.  He played in nine games, getting 197 snaps as a receiver and return specialist. He had 16 receptions for 191 yards and one TD and five kickoff returns for 129 yards, including two for 63 yards against LSU. He closed the season with three catches for 63 yards against Hawaii. He also had three rushes for eight yards.

Prep: A teammate of current Tider Todd Bates, Tyrone played cornerback and running back for Cleburne County.  He amassed 8,099 career all-purpose yards, the third-best mark in Alabama high school history.  He also accounted for 92 career touchdowns.  In a state 4A playoff game against Brooks, he ran 170 yards in the 28-7 win.  His junior season, Tyrone was perhaps the state's most versatile player, rushing for 1,031 yards and 11 TDs on 152 attempts.  He also had 27 receptions for 508 yards and six TDs; returned 32 kickoffs for 804 yards and three TDs and had two punt returns for touchdowns.  Playing defensive back in three games as a junior, Tyrone had six interceptions.
